When we were visiting Jeremy's parents in Florida last month, we were quite surprised to hear of a man less than a mile from their house who has hundreds of goats right in a residential area. And then we were like, ohh yeah it's Florida... ha. Still it was a sight to see. As you can imagine Madeline loved our little trip to the goats. She was a little nervous at first but warmed up quickly. The girl loves animals. Jeremy and I are trying to figure out where she got it, because it was not from us. Thanks goat-man.

did I mention we went to Florida a month ago...?
^^ You know you're white when you almost blend in with the sand.
Our first day in Florida we trekked out to Mexico City Beach. The weather couldn't have been more perfect. Blue skies, bright sun, breezy and just perfect. Madeline was a little overwhelmed by it all but decided she was ok with the sand eventually. We didn't stay too long with a couple of fair skinned girls, but we definitely decided we like having Grandma & Grandpa living near the beach :)More pictures to come soon!

Easter at last
I realize I'm late, but we did celebrate Easter! Our Easter weekend was wonderful. The Easter Bunny paid a visit to our house Saturday morning and Madeline absolutely loved it. We gave her just a couple pieces of candy. Luckily finding plastic eggs is about as exciting as candy at this age. Then we went to the Zoo as a family and despite the crowds we had a great time. It was a beautiful day. We came home, Madeline took a nap and Jeremy and I dyed some eggs. Then we headed out to have dinner with some friends. Sunday morning we got up, got dressed and partook in a Wells Family tradition of eating an Easter nest for breakfast. It was quite tasty. We headed to church where Jeremy got to accompany the Ward Choir for their Easter number and then we got to listen to a beautiful opera soloist sing, "I know that my Redeemer liveth". It was simply wonderful. This Easter felt extra special. Through out the entire day a scripture repeated itself in my head, over and over again.
"And now, after the many testimonies which have been given of him, this is the testimony, last of all, which we give of him: That he lives! For we saw him, even on the right hand of God; and we heard the voice bearing record that he is the Only Begotten of the Father— That by him, and through him, and of him, the worlds are and were created, and the inhabitants thereof are begotten sons and daughters unto God."
I'm so grateful for my Savior. I'm grateful for His life, His example and for His Atonement.
Happy Easter.

my little helper
On a sick day like today when all I've done is laid on the couch and blown my nose about 234907901 times (oh I also threw myself a few pity parties because this is about the sixth time I've had the flu-cold since November...), I couldn't be more grateful for my especially happy, little helper who just knew doing the dishes was the last thing I wanted to do. If only her productivity level was as good as her intentions....

lately...
^^ I can't seem to get enough of green smoothies these days. So vibrant, fresh and healthy.
It seems as though spring is just around the corner and believe me when I say we are more than ready to welcome it with open arms. Natural light has been flooding through our windows and that brings joy to my soul. The city seems to be awakening from its winter slumber and I'm continually in awe of all the friendly people I meet.
We had an amazing weekend as a family listening to the LDS General Conference. I am humbled and so blessed to be a part of this wonderful church. I've been uplifted and rejuvenated and I'm ready to face the world again. Ready to live better; to be better. Of course we've also been loving the outdoors. Lots of sunshine, walks and dandelion decorated hair. I love having a daughter :)
Sadly this little Madeline of mine isn't doing so great today. Allergies seem to have hit her hard so we'll be doing lots of snuggling today. Which I'm totally ok with :) Go figure that on the warmest day of the year so far she insists on wearing a winter hat.

I love to fly

I have always loved flying. There's an almost magical energy that flows through even the smallest of airports. People are coming and going. All for different reasons. Business, funerals, weddings, vacations. Everyone is experiencing change. Everyone is different. It's exciting. Especially for a people watcher like me. I love wondering what I'll order for my precious complementary beverage even though I know - Sprite. Always. Bringing favorite snacks that keep one particular little mouth busy. Anxious adrenaline rushes fill a day of travel. Take off, landing. I'm childish with excitement. But yesterday I was especially grateful to be traveling with my two favorite people. They seem to make any experience brighter. Even a day of flying.
