boobs: and all Madeline has to say about them

It's a terribly cold wintry day and except for a little frolicking in the snow we've felt pretty cooped up today. So why not lighten things up with a slightly inappropriate (maybe it depends on who you ask?) conversation.

Boobs has seemed to be the buzz word at our house the past few days. Madeline has managed to work it into several conversations both accidentally and on purpose.

Sunday morning I wasn't feeling great. I'd had a very clogged duct and probably a little mastitis for several previous days so between getting over that and having a little bit of an emotion melt down I was  kind of a mess. I was sitting on the bed sobbing when sweet, sincere Madeline came up to me with what must have been all the serious sincerity she had in her and said (with a touch of dramatic facial expression),"Mommy... your boobs hurt?" Needless to say I felt a bit better after we had a good laugh about that. It's amazing the things she picks up on! I keep forgetting she takes in everything we say...

Then yesterday morning as I was getting dressed, she snatched a bra from my hands and said, "No, no I wear the boobs, mommy."  Not yet, love. Enjoy it while you still can :)

And finally, this morning as we were getting ready to go outside and play in the snow she kept talking about boots, but as you might guess it sounds a lot more like 'boobs' than 'boots'.  So it was, "Daddy you found your boobs!" "Where did my boobs go?" "I found my boobs!" "Daddy put his boobs on?"

Oh miss Madeline we love you! You bring so much joy and laughter into our home. Life is so much better having you around :)

best wishes to two of the very best gals I know

My two best friends from high school are each beginning new and exciting chapters of their lives in the next two weeks. Jaclyn is getting married tomorrow and in two weeks Kaylie is leaving to serve as a missionary in Germany! I'm so unbelievably proud of these beautiful women and all that they are becoming. I guess I naively thought it would just be the three of us goofing off forever, but our lives have each turned different ways. (Probably my fault for getting married so quickly... ha).  Mostly I'm so grateful for the wonderful memories we have together and for all they each taught me. So glad I had such wonderful friends through those tuff high school years who knew and understood me. Congrats to Jaclyn tomorrow and good luck to Kaylie! Can't wait to have the three of us together again someday :)

the gulf

 Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the Gulf of Mexico. Also this is the last collection of pictures from our trip to Florida (you're all hoping ;) I mean come on, how long can I really drag this out?)

It was a pretty chilly day on the beach. We got out of the car and thought, why are we all in swimming suits? But the benefit of a cool breezy day was practically having the beach to ourselves. Incase you couldn't tell, Madeline liked the sand with the protection of Grandpa, but wasn't wild about being anywhere near the water...

It was such a fun week in Florida with little adventures, good food and lots of games. We can't wait for Spring Break next year!

my little helper

On a sick day like today when all I've done is laid on the couch and blown my nose about 234907901 times (oh I also threw myself a few pity parties because this is about the sixth time I've had the flu-cold since November...), I couldn't be more grateful for my especially happy, little helper who just knew doing the dishes was the last thing I wanted to do. If only her productivity level was as good as her intentions....

I realize I've been bombarding the world with videos lately.......

I just can't help it, she's too cute. Oh and happy Valentines Day. Heart shaped sausage patties are about the extent of our celebration. Lame we know. Next year we'll get back on the bandwagon. But for the record, I love you Jeremy. And Madeline too :)

just to make you smile

Yes she did throw up the tiniest little bit at the end of the video.... ha
She'd been laughing pretty hard up to this point!

the many faces of Madeline

Madeline is funny and she knows it.  She makes these ridiculous faces all the time.... holds it for a really long time and then busts out laughing.  She's not upset at all, just exploring her facial expressions.  I said a few days ago I thought she might be related to cookie monster, but I think Shakespeare would be a better match. Hope you enjoy the video, too.

so big

Well we made it to Spokane after a long day of traveling.  Last Saturday we woke up at about 4:00am (Eastern Time) and landed at 5:00pm (Pacific Time) and finally went to bed around 11:00pm.  It was a seventeen hour day.  {We're so glad we don't have to do it again for another month}  But we survived and we're oh so happy to be here.  Jeremy is still in Baltimore and will be for another week and a half... :(  Stinkin' finals.   We miss you babe!

Madeline is absolutely loving all the attention she's getting from Grandmas, Grandpas, Aunts, Uncles and cousins.  And if you don't believe me just watch the video:

{Big Thanks to my dad for catching it on video}

Happy Tuesday everybody!

sad but true...

{via}

This picture feels all to familiar.  I wish I could say I weren't a bed hog... I also wish I could say I didn't snore/sleep-talk/hog the covers.   Thank goodness for forgiving husbands :)
