Man oh man am I missing my husband. I watched the video my dad put together for our wedding of all our baby pictures, mostly just to look at my cute husband because I miss him. But I found myself daydreaming about what this little boy will look like. I'm kind of hoping for a head of dark hair from Jeremy and my chubby baby rolls. Regardless, we're quite thrilled with the way Madeline turned out so I'm sure we'll love little boy no matter how he looks. Even if he's skinny and blonde ;)

madeline loves her grandpas
{family names from Sarah Wells on Vimeo.}
Thank you all for the wonderful well wishes and excitement regarding our growing family. We are really excited. Emotionally it's been a long eight months or so, but we're happy to be moving forward. I'm grateful for the opportunity to be busy during the rest of this pregnancy, and particularly excited that we'll be busy with our extended family. We can't wait to spend a good chunk of the summer together.
In preparation for for our trip, we've been trying to practice saying the names of some family members. When we skyped my family yesterday she was really quiet at saying their names, so just to prove she can say some of them, here's a video. Pretty good for not quite 19months, right? Sorry she doesn't say your names better mom, Christian and Elizabeth. We're still learning :)
We skyped some of Jeremy's family last night too and as soon as she saw the skype window pop open she couldn't stop saying "gampa gampa gampa." Naturally there were a few technical difficulties and before a minute had passed she was sobbing the biggest crocodile tears because she couldn't see Grandpa! I think she enjoys being the only grandchild for now. But I'm sure she'll love running around with all twenty four of her cousins on the other side, too!

I realize I've been bombarding the world with videos lately.......
{limes are sour from Sarah Wells on Vimeo.}
I just can't help it, she's too cute. Oh and happy Valentines Day. Heart shaped sausage patties are about the extent of our celebration. Lame we know. Next year we'll get back on the bandwagon. But for the record, I love you Jeremy. And Madeline too :)

the many faces of Madeline
Madeline is funny and she knows it. She makes these ridiculous faces all the time.... holds it for a really long time and then busts out laughing. She's not upset at all, just exploring her facial expressions. I said a few days ago I thought she might be related to cookie monster, but I think Shakespeare would be a better match. Hope you enjoy the video, too.

an update with a video
{Madeline(january2013) from Sarah Wells on Vimeo.}
Madeline has been hamming it in the department of facial expressions. I tried to get a picture of her newest and most entertaining look, but it turns out photo-booth is very entertaining when you're just shy of fourteen months. Hope you enjoy the video just the same. She almost does the 'look' a couple times, but not nearly as well as she can... Also, if you find the video funny you should have seen her watch this video ten times. We were laughing pretty hard.
I keep thinking parenting can't get any better than this, but it keeps getting better! I can't express what a rewarding blessing it is to spend my days with this sweet little girl. I love the little lights that flicker on when she puts the pieces of her world together. Today she was wandering around doing her thing when she quickly reached for her toes and exclaimed, "DOES!" The same thing happened yesterday only it was with her noes and it was, "Ni, Ni Ni!" The way she views the world... It's contagious. Things aren't always happy around here, but there are definitely more giggles than cries.

so big
Well we made it to Spokane after a long day of traveling. Last Saturday we woke up at about 4:00am (Eastern Time) and landed at 5:00pm (Pacific Time) and finally went to bed around 11:00pm. It was a seventeen hour day. {We're so glad we don't have to do it again for another month} But we survived and we're oh so happy to be here. Jeremy is still in Baltimore and will be for another week and a half... :( Stinkin' finals. We miss you babe!
Madeline is absolutely loving all the attention she's getting from Grandmas, Grandpas, Aunts, Uncles and cousins. And if you don't believe me just watch the video:

{Big Thanks to my dad for catching it on video}
Happy Tuesday everybody!

I sure love her little voice
{uh-oh from Sarah Wells on Vimeo}
We finally caught a little verbalization on video.
Wish we could share all the fun things she's learning and doing.

Madeline walked today
Here's the video of our little (only not so little anymore) Madeline walking! She was doing so well right before we got out the camera, sorry. That's kind of how home videos go though isn't it?
Can't believe our daughter is almost a toddler! It's the craziest most wonderful thing to be a mom.
peek-a-boo video
This little girl. I can't tell you how much fun it is to spend my days with her. Last night while I was making dinner she entertained herself quite happily and spent most of that time playing peek-a-boo with a pair of pajamas. She loves putting clothes "on". If I'm sorting laundry she'll come right over, help me empty all the baskets... five times... and then when I finally give up, she will put every article of clothing "on" by draping it over her head or around her neck. I think she'll be one of those little girls I find playing dress up in my closet all too frequently. And that is just fine with me :)
